Services in this category ▼

Organic aquaculture has gained importance as consumers look for environmentally responsible quality products and avoid harmful aquaculture sources. Certified organic aquaculture has grown since the early 1990s. Today it has become mainstream in many European countries, including Germany and the United Kingdom. The body that sets organic aquaculture standards globally is the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). IFOAM develops international standards for organic farming. In Europe, the organic aquaculture standard has been in force since 2004 and is based on EU Regulation 710/2009.
