It is an international mutual recognition program for test reports on electrical and electronic equipment and components. Testing and certification carried out in a member country and a member testing body are recognized in every other member country.

With a CB certificate issued by a national certification body, manufacturers can obtain certification through a certification body in another country. Products covered by the CB Scheme include:
