PPE CE Certificate

PPE (personal protective equipment) is an important set of tools used to protect worker health and safety in the workplace. PPE is designed to reduce the risks workers face and to prevent injuries and health problems. The Personal Protective Equipment CE Certificate is required to show that PPE sold and used in the European Union (EU) market conforms to safety standards.

In Turkey, this certification is also mandatory. PPE manufacturers must test the product under the directive, meet the directive's requirements, and apply CE marking to the product. PPE health and safety requirements must be defined and tested.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) CE Certificate Requirements

To obtain the PPE CE Certificate, specific requirements must be met. PPE must be designed and produced to protect user health and safety. The requirements cover equipment design, material selection, ergonomics, protection level, user instructions, labelling, and marking. The proper protective equipment must also pass performance tests and meet the specified standards.

These are the tests typically required to obtain the PPE CE Certificate. Depending on the type of protective equipment and its intended use, additional tests may be needed. Manufacturers must work with a notified body to identify the right tests and have them run at authorised laboratories. Test results must be submitted during the CE Certificate process and evaluated by Eurocert specialists.

The aim is to verify that PPE meets safety, performance, and conformity requirements. Tests matter to ensure PPE protects users effectively. PPE that goes through testing for the CE Certificate can be freely sold and used in the EU market, helping protect worker safety and health.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) CE Certificate Audit

Manufacturers or importers holding the PPE CE Certificate are audited at regular intervals. These audits aim to observe whether the equipment still conforms to safety standards and is produced in line with the certification project.

Audits are carried out by CE-issuing bodies or authorised audit organisations. The aim is to confirm that the manufacturer or importer meets their legal obligations and that the PPE is safe and conforming.
